PAYMENT

Taxes and freight costs

Prices in Australian dollars include GST (Goods and Services Tax) of 10%. Buyers outside Australia are exempt from this tax, but may have to pay import duties in their respective countries.

Packing and shipping costs are to the account of the buyer as detailed in the box at right.

Payment methods

PayPal is the preferred method of payment, since it offers buyer protection. Other payment options are Direct Bank Deposit via the Internet, Cheque (allow 10 business days to clear) and Cash On Delivery (for local pick-up).

Shipping of artworks will only commence after receipt of the buyer's instructions for packing and freight forwarding, and receipt of full payment including packing and shipping costs. (See box at right).

MONEY-BACK POLICY

Should the buyer not be satisfied with the artwork, the full cost of the artwork will be refunded when the work is returned in undamaged condition to Dai Wynn Fine Art within 30 days of arrival at the buyer's address. Freight costs must be borne by the buyer in both directions.

PACKING AND SHIPPING OF UNIQUE AND FRAGILE WORKS OF ART

A painting in oils on canvas or watercolours on paper is the result of months of dedicated work by a craftsman. A framed work of art is the result of a team effort of painter and framer.

Dai Wynn Fine Art recommends a full-service packing and shipping company such as Pack & Send who will:

  • Wrap the stretched and framed artwork in a moisture-absorbent plastic membrane.
  • Add a thick layer of bubble-wrap;
  • Pack the wrapped artwork in a corrugated cardboard box;
  • Fill any spaces with light plastic "peanuts";
  • Seal the package with tape, label the box "Fragile" and "This Side Up";
  • Insure the contents for damage in transit (optional);
  • Take care of the considerable amount of freight forwarder and Customs paperwork, particularly for international shipments;
  • Track the package and notify the sender and receiver of delivery.

Air freight is recommended for international destinations. It is quicker and safer than by sea freight (which generally needs to be shipped in heat-treated or fumigated wooden crates). Costs will depend on the volume (not the weight) of the package and on the destination. Please contact Dai Wynn or your local Pack & Send (or equivalent freight forwarder agent) for a quote.

SHIPPING VIA POST

Large Format Paintings

It is possible to remove an oil painting
from its frame and stretcher, and to roll
it within a cardboard cylinder for
posting. Restoration to its original condition, stretching and framing,
requires the services of skilled art professional, with costs to the buyer's account.

Small Format Paintings

Small format oil paintings on canvas panel
are ideal for posting in a padded bag for a
minimal charge.

Shipping of artworks will only commence after receipt of the buyer's instructions for packing and freight forwarding, and receipt of full payment including packing and shipping costs. (See box at left).
