Description

“A Slice of Heaven” is the title of the iconic Kiwi song by New Zealand musician Dave Dobbyn. The album cover references “Footrot Flats” by the late kiwi cartoonist Murray Ball. I like to think that New Zealand is my ideal slice of heaven, particularly the South Island – Te Wai Pounamu.
Here is an early morning view of Tititea – Mount Aspiring – from the Wanaka to Rob Roy Glacier road alongside the Matukituki River. Dai Wynn painted this idyllic scene from a photograph he took in April 2007 on his way to Raspberry Flat and the Rob Roy Track.
