24 July 202022 July 2021 Source of Quiet Reflection Dai Wynn painted this image of a spring (une source) in the Gardens of Cadiot at Carlux. To his sensibility, it embodies a sense of tranquility and quiet reflection. At the centre of the painting, a small stream of pure water falls between moss-covered boulders. Carlux is a small, almost hidden, village in the Dordogne region of south central France. Les Jardins de Cadiot are one of many privately owned gardens that are some of the more famous attractions for visitors. Forests, valleys, rivers and limestone cliffs define this picturesque region of Nouvelle Aquitaine. Weathered dry stone walls add a certain beauty to this area. Of course, ancient stonework is the very fabric of numerous medieval old towns, châteaux and bridges. Dai Wynn painted this tranquil scene in oils on linen panel. Artwork dimensions are 25.4 cm high by 35.6 cm wide by 0.3 cm deep approximately.
