Dai Wynn painted these fishing boats at the wharf in Lakes Entrance. This is the gateway to a large lake system in East Gippsland. Dai has simplified the composition to leave out large, grey, modern commercial trawlers. Also, these metal hulled craft are docked away from the smaller, wooden and colourful craft. Even then, Dai has not painted in much of the complex superstructure – the radio, radar and navigation equipment festooning the masts.
