Hotel de Maleville, Sarlat

Hotel de Maleville Sarlat
Hôtel de Maleville is a superb example of the medieval buildings in the old centre of Sarlat-la-Canéda. This is the Périgord region of the Nouvelle Aquitaine department in central France. Sarlat is the centre of many activities on and around the River Dordogne of France. Dai Wynn drew this freehand sketch in black ink on 300gsm fine surface Arches french cotton paper using a 0.1 Unipin fine liner pen. He also took the reference photograph during an extended visit to this delightful region. In France, a “hôtel particulier” is a private mansion rather than a place to stay. However, a sign outside the front door here advertises an art gallery.
